Through pursuing her passion -- a study of metaphysical truths and the application of its principles, Michaela Callaghan is guided to purchase a Calvera stone crystal skull. While meditating with the crystal, Michaela (also known affectionately as Dr Mike) accesses one of her past lives.During the medieval period Dr Mike lived as Isabeau de Foix in the city of Beziere. Here in Languedoc she was a highly regarded Cathar herbalist and a healer, with the ability to see the fee folk of the forests and meadows. On an outing to gather herbs Isabeau meets Jon, a Druid prince. They fall in love and live happily together for many years until Isabeau leaves him to return to Beziers. But past events have changed everything as she is now swept into the Catholic Inquisition. Awaiting her trial in a dark prison cell, Isabeau catches a chill and dies. Only in the twenty first century do Dr Mike and Jon meet again to be finally reunited.
With the added history of the Counts of Foix, an explanation of Cathar beliefs and customs, and a rich bibliography -- these tools for further study also enhance the book.
